US movie box office chart
30th Apr 2002
Scorpion King continues to rule as Life… and Jason X fail to impress.

The week’s new openers Life Or Something Like It and Jason X made disappointing debuts on the chart, failing to tumble chart topper The Scorpion King. However, the King’s rule at the top will almost certainly end next week when Spider-Man opens.

Here’s how the chart looks. Figures are in millions and are for the weekend 26th to 28th April. Total grosses to date are in brackets.

1. The Scorpion King $17.6 ($60.8)

2. Changing Lanes $9.0 ($44.5)

3. Life Or Something Like It $6.6 ($6.6)

4. Jason X $6.5 ($6.5)

5. Murder By Numbers $6.3 ($18.3)

6 The Rookie $5.4 ($60.6)

7. Ice Age $4.6 ($165.4)

8. Panic Room $4.2 ($87.7)

9. . High Crimes $3.0 ($34.9)

10. The Sweetest Thing $2.9 ($21.2)
