Claire Danes has been brought in to replace Sophia Bush as John Conner’s girlfriend in Terminator 3 after director Jonathan Mostow decided Bush was too young to play the role after viewing the movie’s dailies.

Paul Verhoeven has hinted that both he and actor Peter Weller may return to the Robocop franchise. Speaking to TXCN News, the director said he was in talks with Weller and that a new Robocop movie was just a matter of time and viability. Dismissing the recent sequels and TV versions, Verhoeven commented, "I’d like to go back and do it properly."

According to Variety, director David Fincher is currently in talks to direct a remake of the 1975 cult movie The Reincarnation Of Peter Proud.

Jennifer Lopez looks set to star in a big screen update of Carmen to be written by Romeo And Juliet and Moulin Rouge screenwriter Craig Pearce.

Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich are reportedly planning a sequel to Independence Day. Meanwhile, Emmerich will direct The Day After Tomorrow, a sci-fi (quel surprise) action movie about global warming.

Colin Farrell will play Alexander the Great in Oliver Stone’s planned biopic. Stone apparently decided on Farrell over Heath Ledger after being impressed by his performance in the forthcoming Joel Schumacher movie Phone Booth.

Martin Scorsese’s next project looks likely to be the much-anticipated Bettie Page biopic. Scorsese in currently in talks with Liv Tyler to star and Francis Ford Coppola to produce the movie.

Still on biopics, Kevin Spacey is expected to star opposite Drew Barrymore in Mack The Knife, based on the life of singer Bobby Darin. Barrymore will play Darrin’s first wife, Sandra Dee.
