Robert Evans get a star; Spielberg receives doctorate from Yale; Lucas talks Indy 4; Keaton and Burton up for Beetlejuice 2; and Natalie Portman still rumoured to appear in Return Of The Jedi re-release.
Legendary movie producer and former head of Paramount Pictures, Robert Evans finally got a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame last Thursday (23rd May). Among a crowd of around 500 people were Mark Wahlberg, Peter Bart, Cheryl Tiegs and Evans’s ex-wife Ali MacGraw.
Steven Spielberg has been awarded an honorary degree by Yale University. The director was made an honorary doctor of humane letters for his "artistry and imagination" as well as for his work to preserve memories of the Holocaust.
George Lucas has cleared up some of the ongoing rumours regarding the fourth Indiana Jones movie. Speaking to MTV.com Lucas said, "We're in the process of hiring a writer and hopefully we'll be able to start shooting ... not next year, but probably the year after. It'll take a while to write the script and all that sort of thing." Writer-director Frank Darabont is thought to have begun work on drafting a script which will feature a scene in which Indy comes face-to-face with several of his ex-girlfriends from the previous three movies.
Michael Keaton has said he is interested in working with Tim Burton on a sequel to Beetlejuice, adding that Burton is also keen to reprise the character. Apparently the pair are now waiting for the go ahead from Warner Brothers.
MTV has again reported the news (make that "rumour") that Natalie Portman has signed on to shoot new scenes to be inserted into Star Wars: Episode VI - Return Of The Jedi for the DVD release of the movie.
